How we work
No surprises,
in either direction.
You are hiring people you have not met to work on the thing that pays your wages. Here is exactly how it goes, so that decision is smaller than it feels.
Week one
You can stop after day five and owe us nothing.
Day 1–2
We read the store
Theme code, installed apps, page weight, checkout flow, analytics and consent. A person reads it, not a scanner.
Day 3
You get the audit
Written and specific: what is slow, what is duplicated, what you pay for twice, and what we would do first.
Day 4–5
Scope and a fixed price
One number, one written scope, one date. If we cannot price it confidently we say so rather than pad it.
What you own
All of it, from day one.
The theme repository, every app account in your name, the domain, the analytics, and a written record of why each app is installed. If you replace us next month, nothing breaks and nobody has to reverse-engineer a decision. An agency that needs lock-in to keep clients has already told you something.
What it costs
Fixed scope, fixed price, no hourly billing.
€12,000
Store build, from
Design and build in the theme, sections your team edits, analytics wired before launch.
€8,000
Migration, from
URL map, redirects, products, customers, order history, staged cutover with a tested rollback.
€1,500
Stack audit, fixed
Every app costed against what it returns, plus a sequenced removal plan for the ones that lose.
€1,800–3,500
Monthly care
A named person who knows your store, quarterly stack review, response inside one working day.
3 founding client slots remaining · reduced rate in exchange for a case study
What we will not do
Six of them, in writing.
- Install a page builder. We build theme sections your team edits in the Shopify customiser.
- Put a chatbot on a store that has nobody to answer it.
- Bill you for an app you do not need so the stack looks thorough.
- Quote a migration without reading the current store first.
- Hold your theme repo, domain or app accounts. They are in your name from day one.
- Promise a conversion-rate number. Anyone who does is guessing with your money.
Questions
The ones clients actually ask.
Including the one about why you would hire an agency with no case studies.
You have no case studies. Why would we hire you?
Fair question, and we would rather answer it here than dodge it. Shipshape is new. What we can show you instead is our reasoning — the stack page lists every app we build with, why, and which ones we refuse to install. Read it and you will know more about how we think than most case studies would tell you. That is also why the first few clients get founding pricing: you are taking a risk we are pricing honestly.
How long does a build take?
A straightforward store is six to eight weeks from kickoff. A migration with order history, subscriptions and multiple markets is ten to fourteen. We give you a date with the quote, and if we are going to miss it you hear about it early rather than on the day.
What does it cost?
Builds start at €12,000 and migrations at €8,000, quoted as one fixed number against one written scope after the week-one audit. Ongoing care is €1,800–3,500 a month. If we cannot price something confidently we will say so rather than padding it.
Do you work with our existing developer or team?
Often, yes. Plenty of brands have someone in-house who knows the store and needs help with a specific piece. We will scope around them rather than around replacing them.
Who owns the work?
You do, from day one. The theme repository, every app account in your name, the domain, the analytics. If you replace us next month, nothing breaks and nobody has to reverse-engineer a decision.
Do you do paid ads, SEO and social?
No. We build and run stores. We will happily work alongside the agency that does your marketing, and we will tell you when a problem you have called a traffic problem is actually a store problem.
Do we need Shopify Plus?
Usually not as early as people are told. Plus earns its money at real volume, on checkout customisation, B2B, and multiple storefronts. We will tell you when you are close, and not before.
What happens if we want to leave?
You take everything and go. There is no notice period on the retainer beyond the month you are in, no proprietary code, and no accounts held in our name. An agency that needs lock-in to keep clients has already told you something.
Send us the store URL.
That alone is enough to start.
